UNC Charlotte Motorsports Building II

UNC Charlotte Motorsports is located in the heart of NASCAR country, within 50 miles of 90% of the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams and 5 miles from Lowe’s Motor Speedway. This location, coupled with the program’s standards for excellence, makes it a first stop for employers hiring interns and entry-level engineers in the automotive and racing industries. To better serve its students and faculty, UNC Charlotte is constructing this building to expand the facilities for the existing motorsports program.

The building added approximately 13,500 GSF including new lab spaces, faculty and staff offices for new hires, and support spaces. The building is sited within close walking distance of the first Motorsports Building and Duke Centennial Hall on the Charlotte Research Institute Campus. This new building maintains the University’s standards for new buildings, and meets State Construction Office requirements.

Stewart was responsible for civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying.
