Project Overview

Stewart served as the prime designer for the WTCC RTP Campus Infrastructure project and also served as the civil consultant on the Perkins + Will design team for the new Administration and Classroom project. This allowed for a seamless design for WTCC.

Stewart Responsibilities

Stewart was in charge of all regulatory approvals that included the rezoning of the entire parcel, Town of Morrisville Site Plan approval, Town of Morrisville Buffer Authorization, Town of Cary Utility approvals, NCDOT approval for NC 54, Watkins Road and Watkins Road Extension, NCDENR Land Quality Erosion Control, 401 Water Quality Certification from the Division of water Quality and 404 Permit from the USACOE. Design services included the design of approximately 1,500 linear feet of NC54 from a two-lane road to a four-lane median-divided roadway with a new signal at Watkins Road and NC 54 Intersection. We designed approximately 1,200 linear feet of Watkins Road from a two-lane gravel road to a four-lane median divided roadway and 1,200 linear feet of Watkins Road Extension from gravel to asphalt. Utilities included the installation of a new reclaimed waterline in NC 54 and Watkins Road. Public sewer and waterlines were extended through the campus to serve the first building along with the three future buildings in the central core. Stormwater management included the design of all on-site storm drainage along with two stormwater management ponds.
