24th Annual TCREW Champion Awards: Celebrating Triangle People & Projects

The 24th Annual TCREW Champion Awards was a wonderful celebration, bringing together professionals from all facets of the real estate industry who possess the same goals and passion for growth in the Triangle. Stewart is excited to announce that two projects we had the honor of working on – 301 Hillsborough and Raleigh Iron Works – received Champion awards. Congratulations to the visionary developers and design teams that were recognized for their innovation, creativity, and passion.

Best Redevelopment Project: Raleigh Iron Works

The Iron Works district is the site of the former Peden Steel and includes two historic warehouse structures that were re-purposed for modern uses. The district includes office, residential, retail, and parking, and connects to an adjacent adaptive reuse warehouse project, creating a creative hub near downtown Raleigh. The 26-acre site features two buildings with more to come in future phases. The Double Gable building includes 116,000 square feet of office and retail space, while The Bow Truss is an 83,000-square-foot adaptive reuse of an existing steel production facility and mill and features commercial office and ground-level retail, office space, and covered parking. The site design celebrates the project’s history with the incorporation of industrial elements and an amazing two-story red slide that’s not to be missed.

Green, Well, or Sustainability Award: 301 Hillsborough at Raleigh Crossing

This large, 19-story mixed-use, live-work-play development in downtown Raleigh consists of 280,000 square feet of office space with ground floor retail and a parking deck in phase one. The second phase includes residential and a hotel. The building and site design is influenced by its location at the intersection of the four downtown Raleigh districts: Warehouse, Glenwood South, Capital, and Fayetteville Street. The tower and streetscape provide a transition and contextual relationship to the four districts while also creating a unique and impactful new statement to add to the Raleigh skyline.

Most importantly, we want to extend a special congratulations to Note in the Pocket for receiving the Outstanding Public Service Award! This organization continues to help provide clothing and dignity to impoverished and homeless children in Wake County. Check out all the AMAZING opportunities they bring to children in our community!
